Lots of fluids, chicken soup (if someone can get you some homemade broth, even better), vitamin C & D (yes D helps us have a strong immune system), and some sort of probiotics (a strong healthy digestive system helps the immune system). I live nowhere near you, else I'd be at your door with most/all of the above! Praying God would deliver some help to you from someone local. :)
Jill, glad to hear you're on the upswing. Praise the Lord!
Try not to overdo it, though, since you're feeling better. I think we all do that from time to time. We hit the upswing, and we think we're completely better, so we push, and then... back to square one. Sick as a dog, again.
Ok, maybe we all don't do that, but that is my usual MO. My dear husband needs to remind me not to do that to myself!!!
Carolyn, thank you for the reminder. I am not used to being ill for more than a day, especially a cold or flu. This germ was humbling to me. I had 2 horrid days and the 3rd I felt pretty good! Got things accomplished and then later that afternoon....I was exhausted for days and not able to do a thing. YIKES!
Oh Jill!

Else, rest.

Carolyn, what great ideas for taking care of me! Thank you for your sweet kindness and your desire to help! Precious!
ReplyDeleteHi Jill,
ReplyDeleteWhen one part of the body suffers, do not we all suffer with it? 1 Cor 12:26
Also James 2:16
It's amazing (in a unhappy way) how viruses and bacteria (such small things) can render us so desperately ill! Hope you are feeling better.
-Carolyn
Carolyn, I also contemplate these things, especially when so ill!
ReplyDeleteSoon enough no more struggles, no more tears - but until then, trusting the LORD with all my heart!
Much better, have more energy, and I am sure this is the upswing of getting better!!
