Christ is Mine Forever

-net photo: Scotland in Autumn
*
Mine are days that God has numbered
I was made to walk with Him
Yet I look for worldly treasure
And forsake the King of kings

But mine is hope in my Redeemer
Though I fall, His love is sure
For Christ has paid for every failing
I am His forevermore

Mine are tears in times of sorrow
Darkness not yet understood
Through the valley I must travel
Where I see no earthly good

But mine is peace that flows from Heaven
And the strength in times of need
I know my pain will not be wasted
Christ completes his work in me

Mine are days here as a stranger
Pilgrim on a narrow way
One with Christ I will encounter
Harm and hatred for His name
But mine is armour for this battle
Strong enough to last the war

And He has said He will deliver
Safely to the golden shore
And mine are keys to Zion city
Where beside the King I walk
For there my heart has found its treasure
Christ is mine forevermore

Come rejoice now, O my soul
For His love is my reward
Fear is gone and hope is sure
Christ is mine forevermore
Come rejoice now, O my soul
For His love is my reward
Fear is gone and hope is sure
Christ is mine forevermore

Come rejoice now, O my soul
For His love is my reward
Fear is gone and hope is sure
Christ is mine forevermore

And mine are keys to Zion city
Where beside the King I walk
For there my heart has found its treasure
Christ is mine forevermore
Christ is mine forevermore

Waiting and Longing for the Mail to Arrive

-FB Scotland

Waiting for the arrival of the mail and that one special letter you long to receive is a world wide waiting.

So many sorrows, so many groans, so many concerns, and so many heartaches...

There is One for whom we never have to wait. This is the LORD God, His Son Jesus, and His Helper the Holy Spirit.

At any time, anywhere, we can cry out and we will be heard.

We feel alone? We can tell Him in any moment.

We are deeply wounded in our inner most self? He already knows, but cry out to Him!

Seek Him in His Word anytime!

We are so very fearful of the world's troubles! But He can calm us in ALL the trials we are in and that which will come.

John 14:1,6-7,12-13,16-17,25-27

“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me...

...Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.”...

...Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son...

''' I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you...

...“These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful."..."

*

Give your sorrows and worries to the LORD.

You can wait for the mail, but you never have to wait to talk with the LORD.

Kindness and Respect

 1 Peter 3:7-9

..."You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.

To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit; not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing."...

Not one thing in these verses sound cruel, mean, vicious, controlling, disrespectful, violent, manipulating, crazy-making, lying, tricking, abusive...

1 Peter 1:3-5

..."Blessed be the God and Father

of our Lord Jesus Christ,

who according to His great mercy

has caused us to be born again

to a living hope through the resurrection

of Jesus Christ from the dead,

to obtain an inheritance which is

imperishable and undefiled

and will not fade away,

reserved in heaven for you,

who are protected by the power

of God through faith for a salvation

ready to be revealed in the last time."...

Our Daily Source of Knowledge

-Yellowstone FB photo

*

“Instead of coming into worship with the express understanding that all of this begins with God in His glory,

people come with coffee in hand, saying,

‘Let’s see if he’s got something good for us today,’”

“Expositional preaching gives way to inspirational talks,

which gives way to therapeutical endeavors,”

“I'm not sure that America understands just how deep the problem is,

in relationship to biblical illiteracy.

You cannot continue to make your journey through life without your Bible,

not as a talisman,

not as something just to be revered in a corner,

but without the Bible as our daily source of knowledge and encounter with God.”

Sadly...Manipulating, Using, and Abusing comes quite naturally to some people.

Colossians 3:1-17

"Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.

For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.

For it is because of these things that the wrath of God will come upon the sons of disobedience, and in them you also once walked, when you were living in them.

But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth.

Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices, and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him— a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all.

So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.

Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.

Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father."...

The Light, Jesus, Shinning in the Darkness

 -UK

*

John 1

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He was in the beginning with God.

All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.

In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.

The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

There came a man sent from God, whose name was John.

He came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe through him.

He was not the Light, but he came to testify about the Light.

There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man.

He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.

He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John *testified about Him and cried out, saying,

“This was He of whom I said,

‘He who comes after me has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.’”

For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace.

For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.

No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.

This is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent to him priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”

And he confessed and did not deny, but confessed,

“I am not the Christ.”

They asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?”

And he *said, “I am not.”

“Are you the Prophet?”

And he answered, “No.”

Then they said to him, “Who are you, so that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say about yourself?”

He said,

“I am a voice of one crying in the wilderness,

‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’ as Isaiah the prophet said.”...

The Light who enlightens men
