One time, years ago, we had planted about 150 tulip bulbs in the fall, to decorate the front walkway of our house. Come spring, only three started to come up. We wondered what happened. Then, we saw him: the squirrel, who seemed measurably wider than he was long, with his little chubby face buried underground in the dirt and mulch along side our walkway, surfacing only to finish munching the last remnants of our bulbs!!!!!
Look at him stuff his cheeks!

Oh, my! Yes, we have had that in the past also! I began only planting Daffodils, but missed the tulips!
ReplyDeleteI do agree that squirrels can be a bother----but I love them just the same!
Thanks for your story.
Oh, I agree, all those little critters are cute! Squirrels, rabbits, even deer, just the sweetest-faced, vegetation destroying machines ever!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your vignettes as well!
