You're Always a role model to somebody #9

Psalm 34:1-7
I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

My soul will make its boast in the Lord;
The humble will hear it and rejoice.

magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.
sought the Lord, and He answered me,
And delivered me from all my fears.

They looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces will never be ashamed.

This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him
And saved him out of all his troubles.

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him,
And rescues them.

You need that Christian mind-filling mediation!

Got Grumpiness?

Here is a sure fire way to begin to deal with this sin.

Head over to How to Beat That Bad Mood, by Tim Challies and get ready to be inspired by the word of God and control your grumpiness like never before.

Here is a taste:

Go to the Gospel

If there is ever a time to preach the gospel to yourself, this is it. Reminding yourself of the gospel is the ultimate reality check. Reminding yourself of the gospel, and allowing those truths to cross your mind and heart, is reminding yourself of the deepest realities of the universe. You will remind yourself that you are a sinful person who deserves God’s wrath, that God himself entered this world as a man, that he bore all your sin and condemnation, that he suffered the wrath of God on your account, that he died the death you deserve, that he rose in triumph, and that all of his righteousness has been given to you. Some people say that when you’re grumpy you ought to meditate. They’re exactly right, except that instead of that Eastern mind-emptying meditation, you need that Christian mind-filling meditation, where you deliberately fill your mind with the truth of the gospel.....

I'm alone, yet not alone

I'm alone, yet not alone.
God's the light that will guide me home.
With His love and tenderness,
Leading through the wilderness,
And wherever I may roam,
I'm alone, yet not alone.

I will not be bent in fear.
He's the refuge I know is near.
In His strength I find my own.
By His faithful mercies shown.
That so mighty is His shield
All His love is now revealed.

When my steps are lost.
And desperate for a guide,
I can feel his touch,
A soothing presence by my side.

Alone, yet not alone.
Not forsaken when on my own.
I can lean upon His arm,
And be lifted up from harm.
If I stumble, or if I'm thrown,
I'm alone, yet not alone.

When my steps are lost.
And desperate for a guide,
I can feel his touch,
A soothing presence by my side.

By my side!

He has bound me with His love,
Watchful angels look from above.
Every evil can be braved,
For I know I will be saved.
Never frightened on my own,
I'm alone, yet not alone.

I'm alone, yet not alone.

If you only tell him

Tell Him So

If you hear a kind word spoken
Of some worthy soul you know,
It may fill his heart with sunshine
If you only tell him so.

If a deed, however humble,
Helps you on your way to go,
Seek the one whose hand has helped you,
Seek him out and tell him so!

If your heart is touched and tender
Toward a sinner, lost and low,
It might help him to do better
If you’d only tell him so!

Oh, my sisters, oh, my brothers,
As o’er life’s rough path you go,
If God’s love has saved and kept you,
Do not fail to tell men so!

As Christians are we not to think?

Calvin and Hobbs by
Watterson

Isaiah 1:18-20
“Come now, and let us reason together,”
Says the Lord,

“Though your sins are as scarlet,
They will be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They will be like wool.
“If you consent and obey,
You will eat the best of the land;
“But if you refuse and rebel,
You will be devoured by the sword.”
Truly, the mouth of the Lord has spoken.

As we read the Bible we can ascertain that the LORD desires us to logically use our minds, to discern what is right and what is wrong; we are to think on things even if they are time-consuming or disturbing so that we will be able to make right choices and to encourage others towards God's truth.

Sadly, many Christians tend to not know what is really happening.  It bothers them to have to think on hard issues. They seem to only want to think happy things.  This can only lead them and others down wrong paths and untruths which are slippery slopes into deceptions.

Is it wrong to want to think happy things?

I would love to just think happy things! Hmmmm...what would those days be like??!!

But real life is full of tough issues, and the unsaved world, and non-descerning Christians continually put out falsehoods.  Although my life is full of happiness, it is surrounded by discernment issues.  If we live in a pretend world of our own making to only be "happy", how can we truly be happy if we are following after Biblical falsehoods?

See: Two "Son of God" movie reviews.

So as I choose to live in the LORD's joy, where I am happy, I must keep my "Biblical Glasses" on 24/7 to continue on His narrow path of truth.  Hope to see you there!
