As Christians are we not to think?
Calvin and Hobbs by
Watterson
Isaiah 1:18-20
“Come now, and let us reason together,”
Says the Lord,
“Though your sins are as scarlet,
They will be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They will be like wool.
“If you consent and obey,
You will eat the best of the land;
“But if you refuse and rebel,
You will be devoured by the sword.”
Truly, the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
As we read the Bible we can ascertain that the LORD desires us to logically use our minds, to discern what is right and what is wrong; we are to think on things even if they are time-consuming or disturbing so that we will be able to make right choices and to encourage others towards God's truth.
Sadly, many Christians tend to not know what is really happening. It bothers them to have to think on hard issues. They seem to only want to think happy things. This can only lead them and others down wrong paths and untruths which are slippery slopes into deceptions.
Is it wrong to want to think happy things?
I would love to just think happy things! Hmmmm...what would those days be like??!!
But real life is full of tough issues, and the unsaved world, and non-descerning Christians continually put out falsehoods. Although my life is full of happiness, it is surrounded by discernment issues. If we live in a pretend world of our own making to only be "happy", how can we truly be happy if we are following after Biblical falsehoods?
See: Two "Son of God" movie reviews.
So as I choose to live in the LORD's joy, where I am happy, I must keep my "Biblical Glasses" on 24/7 to continue on His narrow path of truth. Hope to see you there!

Hi Jill,
What a great exhortation for today! Thank you for sharing such important wisdom for these days. Believers need to stay on top of so many things, and help each other see the deceptions.
