The Devotion of a Father

In a world which, in general, denigrates men and thus, fathers--it is always a joy when I see men stepping up to the plate to truly love their wives and love their children and also their parents.

Some fathers lovingly raise up their children to be godly men and women, but this world is full of sin and evil which can certainly turn grown children away from the truth and also from their parents.

These children may not know that their fathers continue to dearly love and pray for them to turn back to the real truth--even though they have treated him cruelly.

Even this does not discount a father's love and devotion to his wayward children. No matter how poorly his children choose in life, he will always be there for them when they finally remember who they are in Jesus and who they should be for their father.

I know a certain father who will be waiting at the road, looking for them.

Psalm 32:7-8

You are my hiding place;

You preserve me from trouble;

You surround me with songs of deliverance.

I will instruct you and teach you

in the way which you should go;

I will counsel you with My eye upon you.

Psalm 103:13

Just as a father has compassion on his children,

So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.

Proverbs 3:3-4

Do not let kindness and truth leave you;

Bind them around your neck,

Write them on the tablet of your heart.

So you will find favor and good repute.

1 Corinthians 16:13-14

Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith,

act like men, be strong.

Let all that you do be done in love.
