1Peter 4:12-13
..."Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation"...
*
Waiting on God and abiding in His will is to know Him in "the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings"
..."that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death"...
*
and "to be conformed to the likeness of his Son"
Romans 8:29
..."For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren"...
*
Therefore if God's desire is to enlarge your capacity for spiritual understanding, do not be frightened by the greater realm of suffering that awaits you.
The Lord's capacity for sympathy is greater still, for the breath of the Holy Spirit into His new creation never makes a heart hard and insensitive, but affectionate, tender, and true."
1Timothy 1:12
..."I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service"...
