Psalm 3:1-5

"O Lord, how my adversaries have increased!


Many are rising up against me.

Many are saying of my soul,


“There is no deliverance for him in God.” 

But You, O Lord, 

are a shield about me,


My glory, 

and the One who lifts my head.

I was crying to the Lord 

with my voice,


And He answered me 

from His holy mountain.

I lay down and slept;


I awoke, for the Lord sustains me."...

Isaiah 25:4-5

..."For You have been a defense for the helpless,

A defense for the needy in his distress,

A refuge from the storm, 

a shade from the heat;

For the breath of the ruthless

Is like a rain storm against a wall.

Like heat in drought, 

You subdue the uproar of aliens;

Like heat by the shadow of a cloud, 

the song of the ruthless is silenced."...

Matthew 5:11-12

Blessed are you when people insult you 

and persecute you, 

and falsely say all kinds of evil 

against you because of Me.

Rejoice and be glad, 

for your reward in heaven is great; 

for in the same way they persecuted 

Matthew 5:43-45

...“You have heard that it was said, 

‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 

But I say to you,

love your enemies and pray 

for those who persecute you, 

so that you may be sons 

of your Father who is in heaven; 

for He causes His sun to rise 

on the evil and the good, 

and sends rain on the righteous 

and the unrighteous."...
