The Mighty One has done Great Things

Luke 1
Mary said:
“My soul exalts the Lord,

And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.

“For He has had regard for the humble state 
of His bondslave;
 For behold, from this time 
on all generations will count me blessed.

“For the Mighty One has done great things 
for me;
 And holy is His name.

“And His mercy is upon generation after 
generation
 toward those who fear Him.

“He has done mighty deeds with His arm;
He has scattered those who were proud 
in the thoughts of their heart.

“He has brought down rulers from their 
thrones,
 and has exalted those who 
were humble.

“He has filled the hungry with good things;

And sent away the rich empty-handed.

“He has given help to Israel His servant,

In remembrance of His mercy,

As He spoke to our fathers,

To Abraham and his descendants forever.”

Luke 2:1-7

"Now in those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus, 
that a census be taken of all the inhabited earth.

This was the first census taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria.

And everyone was on his way to register for the census, each to his own city.

Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, 
to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house 
and family of David, in order to register along with Mary, who was engaged 
to him, and was with child.

While they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth.

And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, 
and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn..."
