His Eye Is on the Sparrow

Why should I feel discouraged
Why should the shadows come
Why should my heart feel lonely
And long for heaven and home
When Jesus is my portion
A constant friend is He
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches over me
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me

I sing because I'm happy
I sing because I'm free
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me (He watches me)
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches
I know He watches
I know He watches me

I sing because I´m happy
I sing because I´m free
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me (He watches me)
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me (He watches me)
He watches me
I know
He watches
Me

Matthew 6:25-34
"...do not be worried about your life,
as to what you will eat or what you will drink;
nor for your body, as to what you will put on.

Is not life more than food,
and the body more than clothing?

Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow,
nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet
your heavenly Father feeds them.

Are you not worth much more than they?

And who of you by being worried can add a
single hour to his life?

And why are you worried about clothing?

Observe how the lilies of the field grow;
they do not toil nor do they spin,
yet I say to you that not even Solomon
in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.

But if God so clothes the grass of the field,
which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown
into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you?
You of little faith!

Do not worry then, saying,
‘What will we eat?’ or
‘What will we drink?’ or
‘What will we wear for clothing?’

For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things;
for your heavenly Father knows that you need
all these things.

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness,
and all these things will be added to you.

“So do not worry about tomorrow;
for tomorrow will care for itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own."

That was lovely. We can know He loves us so. Look how He cares for the birds of the air! We are far more valuable to Him! :o)

Jill, I have a wreath on my front porch, but not on the door, and a fern beside the door. I‘ve been watching 2 sets of sparrows build their nests, lay the eggs, patiently wait until those babies were ready to hatch, then feed them every day. I saw the peach fuzz turn into genuine feathers, and now the parents are trying to coax those babies out of their security into the air! It’s been a wonderful time of observation!
I think one little fellow even got to know my face up close and personal, because I would peek in every day! Our Father is so good to let us see His marvelous creation and the way He provides for all. We can cast all our cares on Him because He cares for us!

Well, I have to correct my observation😐. They were house wrens and not sparrows. Still got the same enjoyment! Thank you for your kind words!
