We have some odd ways of cheering each other up.

See what Ed Welch has written on

What not to say

I have lived in pain, but even so, I do not always know what to say to a person in pain and sometimes in trying to encourage them I have said really dumb, hurtful things.

So when someone says something to me which they think is "kind" concerning my agony, I can choose to be so hurt, or I can shower them with grace and mercy in return as I assume they do not know how their words cut me in my situation.

Thank you, LORD, for teaching us to express Your grace and mercy to others.
