That's a great list! I wish we would have started earlier. I would add that it taught my daughter phenomenal time management skills. She doesn't need a bell to go off every 50 minutes to tell her what to do.

I have this ideal in my head about home education for our second son, Luka, but I don't think I am capable. My husband is also against it, and prefers we just seek out a good Christian school. (Though, those seem to be vanishing) We would still have to likely send our oldest, Marcel, to public school, no matter the case, because he has special needs, and he thrives in those programs. He also doesn't get exposed to the same anti-God teaching the rest of the kids get...

Emily, I understand your dilemma. You two should continue to pray, but follow your beloved husband's decision. The LORD will bless you.

We were in the public school system for years even though we knew OF educating at home, but not beyond that. It took some very bad things in PS and just being disappointed in the system for us to go to Christian school and then into educating at home.

While using public or private schooling you can still be a huge factor in their lives as you interact on their home time :oD We always said we were educating at home for those eight PS years anyways, it was just "after hours" :oD

Praising God with you for your oldest's son's experience at school :oD

Our advice to people who question us concerning educating at home is that you can remove your children from public or private schooling at anytime. You don't have to wait until the end of a semester (like we did~~ARGH) or think you can't because they are a senior, etc. Schooling is the parent's choice. This should relax you. :oD
