The Storms in This Life: Wisdom from the Queen

"It has always been easy to
hate and destroy.

To build and to cherish
is much more difficult."
~Wisdom from Queen Elizabeth II
*

..."For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,
from whom every family in heaven
and on earth derives its name,
that He would grant you,
according to the riches of His glory,
to be strengthened with power
through His Spirit in the inner man,
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith;
and that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
may be able to comprehend with all the saints
what is the breadth and length and height and depth,
and to know the love of Christ
which surpasses knowledge,
that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

Now to Him who is able to do far more
 abundantly beyond all that we ask or think,
according to the power that works within us,
to Him be the glory in the church and
in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever.
 Amen."

The Good Old Days

 Psalm 37:3-8, 11, 16, 18-19, 23-28, 29-31, 34, 37, 39-40

..."Trust in the Lord and do good;

Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.

Delight yourself in the Lord;

And He will give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord,

Trust also in Him, and He will do it.

He will bring forth your righteousness as the light
And your judgment as the noonday.

Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him...

...Cease from anger and forsake wrath;

Do not fret; it leads only to evildoing....

...But the humble will inherit the land

And will delight themselves in abundant prosperity...

...Better is the little of the righteous

Than the abundance of many wicked...

...The Lord knows the days of the blameless,

And their inheritance will be forever.

They will not be ashamed in the time of evil,

And in the days of famine they will have abundance...

...The steps of a man are established by the Lord,

And He delights in his way.

When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong,

Because the Lord is the One who holds his hand.

I have been young and now I am old,

Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken

Or his descendants begging bread.

All day long he is gracious and lends,
And his descendants are a blessing.

Depart from evil and do good,

So you will abide forever.

For the Lord loves justice

And does not forsake His godly ones;

They are preserved forever...

...The righteous will inherit the land

And dwell in it forever.

The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom,

And his tongue speaks justice.

The law of his God is in his heart;

His steps do not slip...

...Wait for the Lord and keep His way,

And He will exalt you to inherit the land...

...Mark the blameless man,
and behold the upright;

For the man of peace will have a posterity...

...But the salvation of the righteous
is from the Lord;

He is their strength in time of trouble.

The Lord helps them and delivers them;

He delivers them from the wicked and saves them,

Because they take refuge in Him."

Frail Children of Dust, Feeble as Frail

O Worship the King

O worship the King, all glorious above,
O gratefully sing God's power and God's love;
our Shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days,
pavilioned in splendor, and girded with praise.

O tell of God's might, O sing of God's grace,
whose robe is the light, whose canopy space,
whose chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form,
and dark is God's path on the wings of the storm.

The earth with its store of wonders untold,
Almighty, thy power hath founded of old;
hath stablished it fast by a changeless decree,
and round it hath cast, like a mantle, the sea.

Thy bountiful care, what tongue can recite?
It breathes in the air, it shines in the light;
it streams from the hills, it descends to the plain,
and sweetly distills in the dew and the rain.

Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail,
in thee do we trust, nor find thee to fail;
thy mercies how tender, how firm to the end,
our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend.

O measureless Might, unchangeable Love,
whom angels delight to worship above!
Your ransomed creation, with glory ablaze,
in true adoration shall sing to your praise!

More Wisdom from the Queen

--Kinsman Co.

"May you be proud to remember - as I am myself -
how much
depends on you,
and that even when your life
seems most monotonous,
what you do
is always of real value
and importance
to your fellowmen."

Seeking the Only One, Jesus

--Yellowstone FB

"Praying all of us will seek the only One who will
never leave us nor forsake us!"
*

~a dear friend
*

..."He Himself has said,
“I will never desert you,
nor will I ever forsake you,”
 so that we confidently say,
“The Lord is my helper,
 I will not be afraid.

What will man do to me?”..."

The LORD's Holy Name

-Martyn Lloyd-Jones

Luke 21:29-36 NAS

..."Then He told them a parable:

“Behold the fig tree and all the trees; as soon as they put forth leaves, you see it and know for yourselves that summer is now near.

So you also, when you see these things happening, recognize that the kingdom of God is near.

Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all things take place.

Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

“Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenly like a trap; for it will come upon all those who dwell on the face of all the earth.

But keep on the alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”...
*

Martyn Lloyd Jones ~ Those who know their BIBLE should not be surprised at the state of the world as it is.

Luke 21:33 - 36 KJV
..."Heaven and earth shall pass away: but MY WORDS shall not pass away.

And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the SON of MAN."...

Happy Valentine's Day and Praises to our Great God and King!

 1 Corinthians 15:3-8

 ..."Christ died for our sins

according to the Scriptures,

and that He was buried,

and that He was raised on the third day

according to the Scriptures,

and that He appeared to Cephas,

then to the twelve.

After that He appeared to more than

five hundred brethren at one time,

most of whom remain until now,

but some have fallen asleep;

then He appeared to James,

then to all the apostles;

and last of all,

as to one untimely born,

He appeared to me [Paul] also."...

Mark 16:6-7

..."And he [an angel] said to them,

“Do not be amazed;

 you are looking for Jesus the Nazarene,

who has been crucified.

He has risen;

He is not here;

behold, here is the place where they laid Him.

But go, tell His disciples and Peter,

‘He [resurrected Jesus] is going ahead of you to Galilee;

there you will see Him, just as He told you.’” ..."

In Christ Alone

~Yellowstone FB
*
In Christ alone, my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
'Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live, I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand

A Different Life

 ~internet photo
*

I have such fond memories of my grandparents. Precious times, precious stories, sweet times of love.

It seems even those times are so far off. Simple days, slower paced, easy times to talk and share.

Since they went to be with the LORD I have thought of so many questions I should have asked them about their lives, growing up, being young adults, living in the country, and then in the big city--

I am thankful I at least had them in my life into young adulthood.

Sweet, precious times...

A Mighty Fortress Is Our God

~Yellowstone FB
*
A mighty fortress is our God,
a bulwark never failing;
our helper he, amid the flood
of mortal ills prevailing.
For still our ancient foe
does seek to work us woe;
his craft and power are great,
and armed with cruel hate,
on earth is not his equal.

Did we in our own strength confide,
our striving would be losing,
were not the right Man on our side,
the Man of God's own choosing.
You ask who that may be?
Christ Jesus, it is he;
Lord Sabaoth his name,
from age to age the same;
and he must win the battle.

And though this world, with devils filled,
should threaten to undo us,
we will not fear, for God has willed
his truth to triumph through us.
The prince of darkness grim,
we tremble not for him;
his rage we can endure,
for lo! his doom is sure;
one little word shall fell him.

That Word above all earthly powers
no thanks to them abideth;
the Spirit and the gifts are ours
through him who with us sideth.
Let goods and kindred go,
this mortal life also;
the body they may kill:
God's truth abideth still;
his kingdom is forever!

“Cease striving and know that I am God"

~Yellowstone FB
*

"God is our refuge and strength,

A very present help in trouble.

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change

And though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea;

Though its waters roar and foam,

Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride.

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,

The holy dwelling places of the Most High.

God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved;

God will help her when morning dawns.

The nations made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered;

He raised His voice, the earth melted.

The Lord of hosts is with us;

The God of Jacob is our stronghold.

Come, behold the works of the Lord,

Who has wrought desolations in the earth.

He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth;

He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;

He burns the chariots with fire.

“Cease striving and know that I am God;

I will be exalted among the nations,

I will be exalted in the earth.”

The Lord of hosts is with us;

The God of Jacob is our stronghold."

Is There Really No Tomorrow?

What is the Plan?

What can be expected?

Who can we trust?

"...Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.

You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."

2 Peter 3:9, 17-18

 "...9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance....

...17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen."
*

"...But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.

For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.

Therefore comfort one another with these words."

Children of all ages, Honor your Parents

"It is so injurious to society when children

stop honoring their parents that this is the

only one of the Ten Commandments that

states a reward for obeying it:

...“that you may long endure, and that you

may fare well, in the land the Lord your

God is assigning to you.”

The warning is clear

if children in your society stop honoring

their parents, you will not fare well, and

your society will not long endure."
